Title: How We Waste, student work in pdf form
Date: Fall 2014
Freshmen in Jane D. Marsching’s Studio Foundation Visual Language class researched the materials which freshmen use to create their projects for Studio Foundation courses. The students created a life cycle assessment of one material they use regularly (examples included colored pencils, paper, etc.) through researching at least one aspect of the material extraction, production, consumption, use, and/or waste. They created a 11 x 17 graphic poster that expressed a challenge and/or solution for that product. We worked together in a design studio format to create a sharable pdf which was sent to all freshmen and exhibited in the Library’s Seeds of Knowledge exhibition in Spring 2015.
