Addressing the Fashion Industry’s Textile Waste Issue
Camille will discuss the fashion industry’s textile waste issue, including residential versus commercial waste, what happens in the design process to contribute to the waste issue, information about headers, the supply chain, and the fashion industry in general.
As an eveningwear designer in NYC, Camille Tagle often witnessed the environmentally damaging practices in the design process. Motivated to transition from fashion design, she created DESIGN UP STUDIO in 2016, a nonprofit focused on empowering the next generation through mentorship, sustainable awareness, and access to reusable materials. DESIGN UP STUDIO merged with FABSCRAP in 2017, where Camille continues to promote the benefits of reuse.
