COF Environmental Forum Course Spring 2020

ENVI201: “Environmental Forum”

Topic: Cultures of Sustainability

Meets on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 8:20 PM at Wentworth

Begins on January 28th.

Environmental Forum is a 2-credit course offered to students in the Colleges of the Fenway. Weekly lectures about contemporary sustainability and justice issues, given by local, regional, and national experts, will inform and offer students the opportunity to engage on a range of topics related to sustainability and the environment. The course includes a Service Learning component.

Through lectures and hands-on experience with local organizations working to protect and restore our environment, students will explore these mutually informing ideas and much more:

  • sustainability is cultivated,
  • our cultural lives can promote sustainability,
  • sustainable practices enrich our local cultures.

One theme of this course is to demonstrate that environmental sustainability is being addressed at the local level, in a variety of ways, here in the city of Boston.  Through offering this course, The Center for Sustainability and the Environment hopes to attract a diverse makeup of students in a broad range of programs from the COF community.
