Erin Genia, Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota, Artist in Residence for the City of Boston
#5 in the Climate Change and Contemporary Art Lecture Series
Tuesday 11/10 10-11am
I will be discussing my work centering Dakota philosophy in my community organizing and creative practice as a multidisciplinary artist working in sound, clay, stone, performance, painting, video, light, and fiber arts. I’ll discuss my goals to amplify the powerful presence of Indigeneity on these occupied lands in the arts, sciences and public realm in order to invoke an evolution of thought and practice that is aligned with the cycles of the natural world and the potential of humanity.
